Cars.com Superbowl Commercial

I think the thing that caught my attention the most on this commercial was the comedy in it. It starts off slow and then gets to the punchline, which happens to be an unexpected punchline. The fact that it's unexpected makes the joke even more funny.

The reactions of the couple who are buying the car, when they're told that the "puppy" is actually a wolf. That facial expression makes the video funny, and also memorable

3.5 million dollars for 30 seconds.

You have to pay for actors, you have to pay for the set, you have to pay for the writers. Also, in the commercial, you would have to pay for the animals also. Wolfs are probably not cheap to include in a commercial. You would have to have the wolf handler also.

Well, considering that the company sells cars, and cars are very widely priced, it's very hard to estimate an answer. But, with an average valued car of 30000, the company would have to sell 120 cars to cover the cost of the commercial.

I think Cars.com will sell more cars because of the commercial than the cost of the commercial. This commercial appealed to millions, and brought many potential buyers to the website.
